portrait of daniel lobb

Daniel Lobb is an award-winning stop-motion animator, director, and musician from Louisville, Kentucky. Currently, he is working on the feature-length documentary What Will I Become?, which was acquired by PBS and for which he is lead animator.
His film work consists of documentaries, music videos, narrative films, and commercials, employing a unique animation style that often casts familiar household items in surprising ways. With this approach, he looks to continue making films that shine a light on what we must cherish, and what we must change.

His musical style was honed through years of studying Joanna Newsom and Grizzly Bear. It aims to encourage self-reflection amidst patriarchy, white supremacy, and runaway climate disaster, all the while maintaining a “sense of casual ease” with his “distinctively welcoming delivery.”
